The St. Thomas More Mission Trip invites parishioners to travel to San Andrés Iztapa, Guatemala for a week of service, prayer, and shared community. Participants will work alongside local partners on meaningful service projects while strengthening relationships within the parish and deepening their faith through lived service.

While the service projects are the same as our other Guatemala mission trips, this experience is intentionally framed for parish groups—placing an emphasis on shared prayer, reflection, and serving together as a faith community.

What We’ll Do
Participants will take part in hands-on service projects that respond directly to local needs. These projects may include building chicken coops and pig pens, constructing cinder-block stoves, and pouring cement floors for homes. The week also includes visiting the sick and elderly, delivering food, and spending time at an orphanage and a school for children with disabilities.

Where We’ll Stay
The group will stay at a Carmelite convent in San Andrés Iztapa. Lodging is simple and comfortable, with private or shared rooms depending on group size. The convent offers a peaceful setting for rest, reflection, prayer, and community life throughout the week.

Trip Cost & Inclusions
The total cost of the trip is $1,795. This includes airfare, meals, lodging, and all materials needed for service projects, allowing participants to focus fully on the mission experience. (The only costs it does not cover are meals you may buy in the airport, souvenirs, and lunch when we sightsee and shop in Antigua on the last day.)
